The Government has recently published further details on the Green Homes Grant Scheme which will open for applications from the end of September.
All Owner Occupiers, Landlords of Private rent sector domestic properties, Landlords of Social Sector Domestic Properties and Park Home owners will be eligible. New build domestic and non-domestic properties will not be eligible.
Measures will be split into Primary and Secondary categories and as long as there is at least one Primary measure within the package of works, Secondary measures can also be installed and will be subsidised up to the amount provided for Primary measures.
Primary measures include: Solid Wall, Cavity wall, under-floor, loft, flat roof, room in roof and park home (all insulation measures). Air Source heat pump, Ground source heat pump and Solar thermal are all also included within the Primary measures.
Secondary measures will include Draught proofing, Windows and Doors and Heating Controls and insulation.
Anyone installing the measures will have to be accredited by TrustMark or the Microgeneration Certification Scheme which is intended to provide reasurrance over the quality of work.
More advice and support should be available from later in August from the Simple Energy Advice service.
